Specifically, the 405 Series strobe is part of Edwards Signaling’s 405 family, designed to operate with Genesis-compatible sync sources.

First, the 405-8A-TW produces 110 cd of effective flash intensity per UL 1971 when mounted on a wall. Then it synchronizes to current UL 1971 sync requirements when paired with a sync source. As a result, the strobe meets sleeping-area visual-notification requirements at the 110 cd rating.

Verified Specifications

Effective flash intensity: 110 cd (UL 1971 wall orientation)

Orientation: wall mount

Color: white housing

Operating voltage: 16 to 33 VDC (must be constant, not pulsed)

Synchronizes to the latest UL 1971 requirements with a sync source

Meets sleeping-area visual notification requirements at 110 cd

Where the 405-8A-TW Fits

Furthermore, the 405 family covers a full range of candela ratings. For example, the 405-5A-TW is 15 cd, the 405-6A-TW is 30 cd, and the 405-8A-TW is 110 cd. As a result, the 405-8A-TW is the high-output white wall strobe in the family — suitable for larger rooms and sleeping spaces where lower-cd devices fall short.

However, the 405 series requires a constant (non-pulsed) supply voltage. Therefore, do not connect to a coded or pulsed NAC.
